Jesus Christ Superstar and In the Heights coming this summer
Tickets are available now for YES Theatre’s Fifth Season which will see the company remount the sold-out production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and present the Northern Ontario debut of “In the Heights”.
The 2014 Season will open with the return of “Jesus Christ Superstar” from July 4 – 19 at the Sudbury Theatre Centre. Last summer, Jesus Christ Superstar sold-out sixteen consecutive shows prompting YES Theatre to restage the popular production this year. From musical theatre legends Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar follows the last days of Jesus Christ and is acclaimed and praised all around the world for one of the greatest rock scores ever written. The production will feature the original cast from the 2013 production.
For the first time, YES Theatre will be presenting two main stage musicals as the season continues with its production of “In the Heights” from August 8 – 23 at the Sudbury Theatre Centre. This musical tells the story of New York’s Washington Heights neighbourhood and boasts three generations of music. An immigrant story, In the Heights showcases a community on the brink of change, struggling with reconciling their past with their future. In the Heights is the winner of four Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestration.

Denniston Entertainment is a newly founded entertainment company based out of Sudbury, Ontario. It has 2 goals: (1) to entertain Sudburians through concerts, live theatre and recorded music, and (2) to provide an outlet for talented Sudbury artists to perform. The company’s founder, Scott Denniston, has performed in concerts, musicals, stage plays and operas both in Sudbury and London, Ontario. As a musician and actor, he understands the importance of performance opportunities.
